Black & White Treatment using Lightroom

This New Zealand beach scene was processed in Lightroom by desaturating the color rather than choosing the black & white mode. I used the contrast slider and a variety of gradient filters to create a 'pool' of light around the beach area. The processing adds to the drama of this shot, it also brings out some of the finer textures. CLICK HERE to learn more about Adobe Lightroom. 1. This really reminds me of an Ansel Adams work with the deep dark black areas vs. the nice bright white. I can't--for the life of me--figure out how to do this with Lightroom. Your blog inspires me every post to keep at it.
